Whats the Point?
The point of creating a timeline for something like art history is so that we can pull inspiration from not just recent art movements but also some earlier works, this will set the bar high for a good production of work and will also set our work from others. Also using a timeline will expand our knowledge on the history of art, it can also be a place in which you can refer to for inspiration instead of having to hold all the information in your head. The chronological order can be much easier to read and understand.
